We had the great privilege of being asked to capture our dear friends wedding in the Lake District this summer and we couldn't wait to do it!
We arrived in the beautiful Bowness-On-Windermere on Monday 24th July to get ready for the long anticipated wedding on Tuesday 25th July which was to be held at the beautiful Storrs Hall Hotel right on the lake.
With the sun shining there was a great atmosphere amongst the early arrival guests and we had a lovely evening sat outside overlooking the lake and chatting. Wedding cake decorating was happening inside and we started taking photographs!
The morning had arrived! The sun was shining and we knew it would be a great day.
Preparations were underway for the wedding to happen outdoors overlooking the lake and everyone was in high spirits.
I arrived with Kelly to capture her bridal prep and I found her with her maids and both her mother and mother-in-law having their hair done, make-up applied and popping a bottle of champagne.
Mark and the boys had a relaxed morning and they were all dressed and ready early enough to welcome the days guests.
Now was the time for Kelly to put on her dress and it was breathtaking! A beautiful, classic gown with a twist... Kelly was able to alter her dress for the evening reception!
With everyone ready and guests seated overlooking the beautiful Windermere Lake it was time for Kelly to walk down the isle where her husband-to-be eagerly awaited her arrival next to him.
Down the isle she came and you could see the guests admiring her and she took Marks breath away when he saw her.
The ceremony was beautiful and the pair emerged from the flower adorned pavilion as husband and wife to confetti, hugs and kisses.
After photographs were taken the guests were asked to stay on the lawn and in the distance they saw a boat getting closer and eventually dock on the halls jetty. This was the big surprise of the day! All of the guests boarded the boat, got themselves a complimentary drink and relaxed as they were treated to a tour of the lake.
Back on shore and as the day progressed there was a game of rounders on the lawn, drinking and mingling inside and outside of the hall and enjoyment all round!
It was an absolutely beautiful day in an amazing setting and Mark and Kelly couldn't have asked for better weather for their day.
We would like to wish them both the happiest of futures together and all the love in the world. Thank you for asking us to capture this special day for you!
